His Faithfulness is Great

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above;
Join with all nature in manifold witness,
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. ~Thomas O. Chisholm

People may disappoint us, family or friends may turn their back on us and walk away; we may feel that there is no one in this world who is faithful and true, but there is One who will never fail us.

God has yet to turn away from that one who asks for His forgiveness. He has never left the side of those who follow Him – even though they may be untrue to Him, still He is there. God will never withhold the hope of glory from the one who seeks Him. His compassion is everlasting, and day-by-day.

There have been a few times in my life when I have felt alone, afraid, abandoned by the very ones who had sworn to love and protect me. One thing I have learned is to never let my feelings, my emotions, rule the day. Satan is the father of all liars, and he takes great pleasure in making us feel bereft and alone. He magnifies our fears and makes us think that we are hopeless, that those we love have turned their backs on us.

When these feelings begin to come, immediately question that thought, that emotion; because, the Word tells us that God is the author of peace, of joy, of hope, of goodness. Any negative emotions or feelings do not come from Him.

If we simply whisper His name, the name of Jesus, He will be there.  His mercy will overwhelm us and His love will surround us.

Even like Thomas Chisholm, we too can proclaim His great faithfulness!
