Keep on Keeping On

Good morning friends and family. It has been a quiet and peaceful morning in my lovely home here in N. Georgia. I am grateful for these moments of solitude – which seem to be so rare, and thus precious. As I sat reading the Word this morning, I ran across what is likely my favorite verse(s) in the Bible. These are the ones I would have shared when my time comes to leave this world behind. I thought to share them with you today. 2 Corinthians 4:16 – 18 16) Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17) For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18) So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (NIV)

In times like we face in our world today, with wars and rumors of war on every hand, babies being killed, aging individuals treated with less and less respect, sin rampant on every hand, it would be so easy to lose hope; to lose sight of what is ahead of us if we hold firm to the faith.

I don’t know about you, but at times I grow weary in heart and soul at the horrible things that come across our media. We are bombarded on every side. It all seems so senseless and so foreign to what God instructs us in His Word as to how to live. Then I am reminded that this is truly just a temporary time and that before long we will see Him face to face and all these other things will have been as nothing.

So, for now at least, I am not going to lose heart. I will keep mine eyes fixed on the author and the finisher of our faith, who is Christ Jesus and Him alone. I pray that you have a blessed day and that somehow, someway, you will find the courage to keep on keeping on.

Blessings to You,

Lynette
