Some Pain

Some pain simply goes too deep for words.
Sometimes the hurting seems a wound that bleeds dry our soul.
Loving a child and having it taken away is like a saber cut that never fades.
And yet, to stop loving is not an option until this world shall end.

Some pain seems to stay longer than the winter’s blast.
The one we loved just beyond reach, their laughter lingers from the past.
Their memory is a shadow that haunts the soul;
And yet we’d not trade any of it for riches untold.

Some pain must be the making of a heart, even though we two must part.
It seems that life keeps keeping on, and the sun will shine on the breaking.
Neither time nor age can dull the pain, of loving and losing no matter our age.
So continue on we all must do, and trust the Lord to see us through.
