To Blog or Not to Blog

For some time now, over a year I suppose, friends and family alike have been encouraging, nay urging, me to do a blog.  I’ve gotten private messages, public messages, phone calls and personal pep talks, all encouraging me to press on and set up a blog site to publish some of my meanderings.

Well, to be quite honest, I have dragged my feet for a while on this whole idea.  It just seemed like one more thing in a long line of many to have to learn!  You see, it’s not just sitting down and writing something fun, encouraging or even thought provoking.  It is also about learning how to manage the site, and learning what to do, and what not to do to make that site worthy of you taking your time to stop by and read it!  Whew, that is a bit nerve wracking to be sure.

“What is a blog?”  I asked.  “How does one make it work?  How often does one have to ‘blog’?”  On and on my questions went; all in an attempt to avoid actually doing a blog!

However, at last, and with the help of our good friend and webmaster Frank Griffin, I am going to do it!  I am going to become a blogger. . .

The funny thing is, the moment Frank sent me a note, goodness over three months ago now, and told me that my personal “blog site” was all set up and ready to go. . . . guess what happened.  Yep, you are right.  My little old brain just froze!

“Whatever am I going to find to write about, will people even want to read what I write – what if I can’t think of anything to write?”  The questions whirled around in my brain like a hamster on a wheel.

And then one morning recently. . .  with no warning, I awoke with at least eight or ten ideas for new stories to tell, new ‘blogs’ to write!  And so, here we go.  I hope you will join me from time to time and will at least endure the tales I have to tell. . .  and perhaps you will even enjoy them!  Please . . . . be kind, be very, very kind. . . this is all very, very new to me!!!

With love to all my dedicated family and friends . . . may the Lord bless you all!
